Incorporated in 1979, Consolidated Business Systems Limited
was a small family - run business lacking in manpower and
experience but its founder Mr. Shanthi Wijesinghe was full of
ambition and drive to see the company forge ahead in the field
of exports of fresh produce.
CBS now employs more than 500 dedicated staff and has a
loyal network of suppliers and farmers who all have work
tirelessly to make CBS one of the fastest growing export
companies today. With three different processing units in the
suburbs of Colombo and three different Collecting Centers spread
out in the rural areas of Sri Lanka. CBS Ltd., is now one
of the leading exporters of fresh and dried produce, tea and
ready made ethnic foods under the brand name "Sun Island".
It came as no surprise when the Company was awarded the
Presidential Export Award in the field of Agricultural Products
for three consecutive years.
"Sun Island" products are currently being exported to
markets in Europe, East Asia, The Middle east, America, Africa
and Australia.
